“When south girls are successful in Bollywood, why not South boys”? asks Aanand, our very own soup boy Dhanush’s ‘Raanjhnaa’ director. The film is all set to go on floors and the makers have announced their lead lady as Sonam Kapoor.

After the success of 'Tanu Weds Manu' there was pressure on Aanand to rope in a much more 'saleable' name, but the director took everyone by surprise by roping in a South leading actor, National Award winning Dhanush.

"I don't quite understand one thing. When we have no qualms picking up films from down South for remaking them in Bollywood, why not do the same with heroes as well," questions Aanand who has earlier worked with Madhavan.

"We have so many girls from down South stepping into Hindi films but we filmmakers seem to get cold feet when it comes to heroes. Maybe 'Raanjhnaa' would be a step in the right direction to break the myth that actors from South aren't successful in Hindi films. I have seen Dhanush's work down South and I can tell you, this boy will take Bollywood by storm once audiences see the emotional side of him," promises Aanand.

Dhanush is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Kolaveri’ fame ‘3’, an emotional romantic entertainer that sees a big release on March 30.
