Aamir Khan's fan to the rescue: AIB Roast

  • IndiaGlitz, [Tuesday,February 24 2015]

Several Bollywood celebrities and audience are miffed over Aamir Khan's reaction over AIB Roast, citing that he was disappointed over it and not impressed. The charity event, AIB Knockout, featuring Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh landed into controversy for over dosage of filthy language and abusive comments on few celebrities.

While many stars stood up to Aamir's opinion, others were simply suprised over his stand, going by the fact he had produced a film like 'Delhi Belly' which was heavily laced with cuss dialogues. Many felt that the actor-filmmaker has been acting like hypocrite by showing his displeasure over AIB's content, when he himself promoted Freedom of Speech and Expression in several of his films as well as social projects. Aamir became target of online bashing, where fans and celebrities vented their anger on the star.

For instance, here's an ardent fan of Mr.Perfectionist, who chalked out couple of reasons to stop being hard on him. According to this fan's open letter, Aamir, although didn't watch the session, reacted to the unedited version as told to him personally by Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor (the participants themselves). So it was natural that Aamir genuinely felt bad about the entire episode, whereas Youtube audience watched only the clean, edited version.

Secondly, Aamir freely supports Freedom of Speech but he never ever said to ban AIB Roast, let alone get the participants jailed. All he said is that he didn't like it and said that he didn't find it funny and so wasn't impressed. Things would have been different had Aamir came out in support to AIB.

Third... Although he has produced 'Delhi Belly' which had the controversial song "DK Bose" that hinted expletive, it doesn't mean that Aamir has to enjoy it every time bad language is used. Giving an example, the fan argued that if it is so, then Rohit Shetty has to jump with joy every time a car explodes in a real-life mishap.

Last but not the least, the fan pointed out how people can be so lame as to loose respect of Aamir Khan - When on several occasion, Aamir has openly voiced his support over LGBT rights; a platform on which even most famous people hesitate to promote. Aamir is someone who brought light on Dyslexia and fought for political and social issues through 'Peepli Live'. So how can his opinion on AIB Roast make people to lose respect over him?
