Aamir Khan's Christmas big screen treat 'Dangal' has had a massive first weekend at the Indian Box Office.
With 'Dangal' recording 42.35 cr nett on Sunday (day 3), it is the biggest ever day in the history of Hindi Cinema. The total weekend collection stands at 106.95 cr nett, including 1.07 cr from Tamil and Telegu on day 3.
Apart from commercial success, 'Dangal' has been lauded critically. It continues to rule hearts across the country and has also been made tax free in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
Aamir Khan has always been breaking records and setting higher benchmarks. In 2006, 'Fanaa' was the first film ever to do a 4 cr plus day. 'Ghajini' in 2008 was the first film to a 10cr plus day, and also cross 100 crs. Aamir was the first star to cross 200 crs at the box office with 3 idiots and 300 crs with 'Dhoom 3'.
In fact, he is the only actor to have 2 films in the 300 crs club, with 'PK' also being the all time highest grossing film with 348 crs. And now in 2016, Dangal is the first movie ever to do a 40 cr plus day !!
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal` is based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trained his daughters to make it big in the field of wrestling.
