After the fantastic reception of 'Margarita, With a Straw' across international film festivals, it's now time for India to roll out the red carpet for the touching tale. For the records, the film has already been showcased at the 19th Busan International Film Festival, 39th Toronto International Film Festival, 2014, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (TBNFF) in Estonia and the Cannes Film Festival amongst others.

This Kalki Koechlin starrer is an emotional journey of a Cerebral Palsy patient Laila' - wherein she embarks on the journey to seek love and acceptance.

The India trailer and poster of the film celebrated the world over, was launched yesterday on the 4th of March at the hands of the Indian Film Industry's thinking star Aamir Khan. A connoisseur of good cinema, the perfectionist actor has watched and praised the film to great lengths. In fact, he was the one who offered to launch the trailer of 'Margarita, With A Straw' along with its critically acclaimed director Shonali Bose and veteran actor Kalki Koechlin as a token of his appreciation.

This inspirational trailer features actress Kalki Koechlin and Revathy amongst others as they bring their characters to life. Addressing death, gender identity and disabilities, it is a perfect blend of innocence, humor and seriousness.

An overwhelmed Director Shonali Bose said, "I was over the moon with Aamir's enthusiastic and excited response when he watched the film a few months ago. It's so generous and great of him to launch the trailer as a show of his support for the film."

Aamir Khan spoke of the film with high reverence. Aamir shared "I watched Margarita with a Straw on Kiran's insistence and absolutely loved it. The film wins your heart. Each and every aspect of the film the direction, screenplay, acting everything about the film is noteworthy. I really think we should encourage this kind of cinema and that is why I decided to come and support the film."

The film's impressive ensemble cast includes veteran Revathy, who has essayed the role of Laila's mother; Sayani Gupta, who plays the feisty and beautiful feminist mother; and British actor William Moseley (Chronicles of Narnia), who shines as Laila's handsome friend Jared. The stirring musical scores by the prolific Mikey McClearywith lyrics by Prasoon Joshi. Anne Misawa delivers beautiful, vibrant visual moments through the film's cinematography.
