The trailer of Advait Chandan's directorial debut 'Secret Superstar' was released recently by Superstar Aamir Khan.

The event was yet another unconventional move by Aamir, who kept the audience guessing as he announced on social media that a 'surprise' was coming their way.

Just when everyone was expecting a 'Dangal' treat to be delivered by Aamir, the actor unveiled the teaser of his next film 'Secret Superstar' that stars his 'Dangal' daughter Zaira Wasim in the lead.

The teaser launch was successfully kept under wraps by the makers and the impromptu teaser break sent social media abuzz. The actor, who also has a cameo in the film, proudly presented the hardwork of his ex manager Advait Chandan.

The first glimpses of the film, showcased an ambitious Zaira Wasim in her quest to follow her dream of singing. The film brings to the forefront the challenges faced by the young girl in her journey to fulfill her dreams as her father opposes her passion for the art. In a trailer which unveils smaller relatable aspects of the life of the young girl, Zaira is seen taking to a video sharing site to put forth her songs in disguise. A burkha clad Zaira is then seen hiding her identity and showcasing her work as 'Secret Superstar' on the video sharing platform.

The trailer ends with an impactful visual of Aamir Khan donning a quirky look as he plays a Music Composer in the film. Aamir is seen mouthing the dialogues, "It is superhit, pasand aaya to like karo aur nahi aaya to taste change karo."

The event witnessed a mentor-protege bond shared by Aamir and Advait, with the later also going ahead to term Aamir as someone who is 'more than a Godfather'.

Spilling the beans on initializing the film, Advait shared insights that it was Kiran Rao who encouraged him to bring the thought into a screenplay and that's how the film was got rolling. On narrating the script to Aamir, the actor insisted that he undertake a screen test before going ahead to play a cameo in the film.

The teaser launch event was attended by Akash Chawla of Zee Studio's in addition to Aamir Khan and Advait Chandan.

Zee Studios presents Aamir Khan Productions' next film 'Secret Superstar', written-directed by Advait Chandan. The film is scheduled to release on 4 August 2017.
