Post his bilingual film ‘Raavan’/’Raavanan’, ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam is all set to bring yet another such project.

The film in question ‘Lajjo’ had been in talks because of uncertainties revolving it. It was doubtful whether the film will really go on floors or not. However of late talks are that the project is indeed going to be made and the filmmaker is busy preparing the ground for same.

‘Lajjo’ is reported to have Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor in lead and the story will be based on the India-Pakistan partition and the associated problems. The bilingual romantic project (Hindi and Tamil) will have the Oscar hero AR Rahman composing the music.

Rahman debuted in a Mani Ratnam’s film 'Roja' and ever since, the two have always worked hand in hand. Recently rumours had been that Ilayaraja was approached to handle Lajjo’s music. But then Mani Ratnam’s wife, actress Suhasini denied this saying that Mani will be continuing his ARR rapport.

‘Rang De Basanti’ famed Rensil D'Silva said to have been brought on board. It can be noted that Kareena had earlier worked with Mani Ratnam in ‘Yuva’. And after ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Talaash’, the actress will be working again with Aamir.

Initially it was planned that Aamir and Kareena will also play the lead in Tamil version. Later following the poor response of Tamil ‘Dil Se’ (which had SRK and Manisha Koirala) the filmmaker reconsidered the plan and decided to rope in Tamil actors for the south project.
