Aamir enjoys Tamil films

  • IndiaGlitz, [Friday,March 13 2009]

Well this is news indeed! Looks like all this started out with his penchant for recreating the Tamil hit ‘Ghajini’ for Bollywood. The Hindi version released to a grand welcome in Bollywood and became an all time super hit so much so that Aamir is now an ardent fan of Tamil films.

Aamir had even told that it was actor Surya –the hero in the Tamil ‘Ghajini’ who persuaded him to take up the project in Bollywood with full confidence. One of the top stars of Kollywood Vijay got surprised when he met Aamir recently. He got amazed when Aamir recognized him and told him that he and his wife Kiran are big admirers of his dancing style.

It is also heard that after watching the Kollywood film ‘Varalaru-the God Father’ having Ajith as the protagonist, Aamir was dazed by the triple roles enacted by the hero and the scenes in which he appears as a Bharathanatiyam dancer.

Aamir seems to have developed a soft corner for the Tamil flicks. After all ‘Taare Zameen Par’ became the only Hindi film to win the Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial award which is hugely respected in Tamilnadu.

Every one knows that Aamir never attends any award functions. So if he came all the way to Chennai to receive the award at a time when he was injured, it shows the respect he has for Kollywood!
