As the 'Aami' team wraps up the first schedule of the film, actor Murali Gopy who essays the role of Kamala Surayya's husband Madhavadas in the biopic, shared his first look from the film through his social media page. In the poster, the actor-writer is seen in a retro look with thick framed spectacles and typewriter. The actor also shared his happiness in working with the director Kamal for the second time, after Gaddama.

Manju Warrier who essays the role of Kamala Surayya in Aami is currently gaining few extra kilos, for the portions which feature Kamala's old age. Vidya Balan, the Bollywood actress was the initial choice for the role of Kamala Surayya in Aami, but the actress backed out from the project at the last minute, due to undisclosed reasons. Later her role was replaced by Manju Warrier. Scripted by director Kamal himself, 'Aami' also stars Prithviraj and Anoop Menon in the other key roles.
