Aagathan
Senior director Kamal and actor Dileep have been waiting for a big hit for quite some time. Both of them had tried many combinations with different crew and different actors but that 'big hit' had remained elusive for a couple of years. And now, they are back together with a serious stuff `Aagathan' which is said to be a better thread and bet than the regular humorous affairs that the actor had been known for.
Dileep, for the first time, plays a software engineer Gautham Menon in this movie. Gautham Menon whose childhood was spent largely in Kashmir with his parents and only sister. His father and other members of family get killed in a terrorist attack while they were in Kashmir.
Later a grown up Gautham meets Shriya, a management student. After a love-hate relationship initially they develop deep friendship. One day Shriya invites him home to introduce him to her parents, who are at a farmhouse in Ooty. And when Gautham meets Shriya's father, General Hareendranatha Varma, the story takes a dramatic turn as Varma was also in Kashmir, and reminiscences incidents that happened in Kashmir is the story of 'Aagathan'.
The highlight of the movie is Tamil actor Sathyaraj' who is for the first time acting in a major role in Malayalam, playing General Hareendra Varma. Zareena Wahab who made a comeback with 'Calender' plays Shriya's mother. Actor-director Lal also plays an important roles in the movie. The other's in the cast also includes Biju Menon, Innocent, Shilpa Bala and Reena Basheer.
