Plot:
We have all seen thrilling short films in some of the famous television programs. This movie is all about combining it together with synopsis and conclusion. The movie introduces us to the story with the well known controversial topic, “Does ghost exists and do you believe it?” This conversation happens when three good friends happen to meet their school time friend who has turned into a millionaire. He dares his friends to prove him that ghost exist. The rest of the story speaks about the ways they tried to prove it and hurdles they met on their pursuit. (Do ghost exist? Did they prove it? We leave it to the viewers)
Cast Performance:
Cast is no new to us. Our well known “kalakapovathu yaru” star, “Gokulnath” has given a good debut performance as a hero. But the problem arises when the viewers realize that the movie is a horror movie and lack of additional zest in some of the most important sequences leads to disappointment. Meghna needs to buckle with acting. Bala Saravannan, one our promising artists has given his best at all the opportunities given to him. Bobby Simha, who has created his own stardom by his remarkable performance in Jigardhana, gets applauses, the moment his appears in the film. It is little disappointment to the Bobby Simha for he has been utilized as a guest performer. On the whole the cast could have been reshuffled to bring out the fear factor through acting.
Technical Aspects:
Music: Since the story is just a chronology of five different ghost incidents in various parts of the globe, it requires good background music to give the thrilling feel. Kudos to the director for opting out songs off the music as it would have pushed this movie further down the ranking order. Viewers have seen best thrillers in past and unfortunately the music is not effective enough to give the thrilling feeling to the viewers.
Cinematography:
A horror movie per say at least needs a better cinematography push. The movie once again disappoints the viewers by such a bad cinematography while they had multiple chances to showcase it.
Graphics: Viewers might have got frighten even when by the expression by sheer words in amarchitra katha rather than in this movie.
What Worked?
The story though just a choronological arrangement of various horror stories, yet it is strong enough to terrify the people (though the film failed to handle it right). Mandhikuzhi sequence and Yesiana sequence were so different and appreciable.
Verdict: When people have been shocked just by using a torch light, this movie could have done it better when it had five different horrorfying stories to say. People might get more horrified by the closing card which says, “Aaah Thodarum (to be continued)”.
