Samir Kochhar has finally reached and is flourishing in his preferred final destination.
The famous host of several programes in the television is sharing the big screen with the lead man Emraan Hashmi, playing a policeman in the soon to be released movie from the Bhatt camp 'Jannat'.
'Jannat' has a story which has a central character of a bookie in the cricket world and needed Emraan Hashmi to do study the workings of bookies and their ways.
But Samir had already started a deep relation and was quite familiar with the most famous and followed game in India by hosting the Indian Premier League matches and before that presenting "Full Toss"- India's first indoor cricket tournament for Kids which was telecasted on the Hungama Channel.
The experience of knowing cricket from such close quarters would have surely helped this budding actor to do more justice to his role of a cop in 'Jannat'.
As Sameer Kochhar considers Bollywood and Cricket as two religions in India, he considers himself as quite lucky to be involved seriously with the new form of sports entertainment IPL and also to be part of a Bollywood film which has a story line completely revolving around cricket.
The host cum actor hit the headlines first when he anchored a ground breaking show called "Dangerous  A talk show in sex" along with Kamal Sidhu which was telecasted on India's first glamour and lifestyle channel Zoom.
Samir who was also the host of "Aaj Ki Filmy Khabbar" on Sahara Filmy and "Khiladi Number 1" on Zee Television, gained more when his show on the topic of sex was nominated for the South East Asian Television Awards.
Besides co-anchoring a 26 part series for India's first ever Aids Awareness reality show on Doordarshan produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) he has also played a lead role in a play called 'Graffiti Postcards from School' directed by Roshan Abbas and choreographed by Shiamak Davar.
He had to wait patiently before a good chance to act in Bollywood came in the form of Mahesh Bhatt's 'Zeher' directed by Mohit Suri in which he played an important character.
The blockbuster status of the movie ensured the flow of good roles in this upcoming actor's way.
Manish Jha gave him his second chance in the short film 'Mumbai 10' and now he has completed the Arbaaz Khan's 'Shadi Ke After Efects'.
He has also played the lead roles in two feature films of K.C.Bokadia.
Now Manish Kochhar has in his kitty more than what he desired for. Samir will be soon playing one of the lead characters in the film 'Cycle Kick' produced by Mukta Searchligh and directed by Shashi Sudigala.
He is also committed to a Raghuvanshi Rai telefilm 'Sambandh' and playing the lead role in a new film which will be directed by Amol Shetge and produced by Harry Baweja besides playing different characters in some films targeted at the various international film festivals.
So Samir Kochhar, you are climbing the success ladder in acting pretty fast. Will we be seeing you soon giving the leading heroes in Bollywood a run for their money?
