Vikram is all thrilled about his Maja getting ready to rock theatres on Deepavali.

A jovial Vikram interacting with media persons at a function held in Chennai on Tuesday to promote the movie, said, ‘it is a perfect commercial, an ideal film for Tamil audience.'

A remake of Malayalam blockbuster Thommanum makkalum, the movie is being directed by Shafi, who directed the original and stars Asin opposite Vikram.

Vikram says, 'It was my desire to do a commercial film with a variety. Happened to see Thommanum Makkalum and impressed with it, I called up Shafi and urged him to direct the same in Tamil'.

A movie about a father and his two sons, Maja, features Manivannan, Pasupathy and Vadivelu in prominent roles.

Known for his natural comedy, Shafi has given his best for Maja to make the movie electrifying this Deepavali, he adds.

For Asin, her first opposite Vikram, working in Maja was a wonderful experience.

Thanking the whole crew, she said, my Maja is certain to stick to your hearts.

Director Shafi and producer Rockline Venkatesh were also present on the occasion.
