Raajneeti - Stills

The verdict is out! Prakash Jha’s ‘Raajneeti’ has finally bagged a U/A certificate from the Censor Board.

According to reports, the Board gave its nod only when the director agreed to delete certain violent scenes and references to homosexuality. The Board said to had referred the movie to the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal, which gave it a U/A certificate (Unrestricted Public Exhibition with parental guidance for children below 12 years) with a rider that the filmmaker will remove certain dialogues and scenes from the movie.

Now sources revealed that Jha has deleted 50 percent of lovemaking scenes and also cut down some abusive language in the film.

The film earlier had attracted objections from the Censor Board, finding resemblance in Katrina Kaif’s character to the Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Even that is now been cleared and the Board members stated that there is no similarities in Katrina’s role or any other character in the film for that matter.

Starring Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpai, ‘Raajneeti’ unfolds on screens on June 4.
