It has become a common sight for our filmmakers to remake hits in other languages in Telugu. Not so long ago Ram Charan has acquired the remake rights of Tamil hit Thani Oruvan and is currently prepping up for the role. Also, Naga Chaitanya too agreed to star in the Telugu remake of Malayalam hit Premam. The film was launched a couple of days ago and the shooting will commence from December 1 onwards.

Grapevine is that a big hero from Tollywood is evincing interest to act in the remake of Ajith starrer Vedalam in Telugu. The Souryam Siva directorial is setting new records in Tamil Nadu and also grabbed the attention of Tollywood filmmakers. Recently, Chiranjeevi watched the film in a special screening and reportedly bowled over by the versatile performance of Ajith. Now, another top hero is vying to work in the Telugu remake and has roped in his close aides to negotiate the deal with the filmmakers of the Tamil version.

But, the million dollar question is whether the Telugu version gets a rousing reception like the Tamil one as our audiences are not lapping up out-and-out mass entertainers anymore? We'll have to wait to find out more about that!
