Director Saran was surprised by the visit of Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, who visited the sets of 'Modhi Vilayadu', which features Vinay and Kajal Agarwal in the lead roles.

Saran, who shot to fame with movies like 'Kadhal Mannan', 'Amarkalam', 'Attagasam', 'Parthen Rasithen' and 'JJ', had lastly churned out 'Vattaram' starring Arya.

After a mediocre outing in 'Vattaram', he has taken a small break to bounce back with force in 'Modhi Vilayadu'. The movie features Vinay in the role of a macho-man.

Saran says,” The movie is about a man, who struggles hard to find his identity. His travails sum up the sequence of events".

The film was shot in exotic locales in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. At Kuala Lumpur, Saran was floored by the visit of Somnath Chatterjee. Influenced by the working style of Saran, Somnath expressed his desire that Saran should come forward to do a Bengali film.

The movie has musical score by Colonial Cousins fame Hariharan and Leslie Lewis. Vairamuthu has penned the lyrics while VT Vijayan snips the film and renders his apt editing.
