It has been official announced that A.R. Rahman is scoring music for the new movie 'Saharasri' directed by Sudipto Sen, who helmed the recent controversial film 'The Kerala Story'.
'The Kerala Story' produced by Vipul Shah and directed by Sudipto Sen hit the theaters on May 5th and courted controversy for falsifying facts and depicting Muslims in a bad light. It was claimed that 30000 women were converted to Islam by extremists and used for terrorist activities. After widespread protests the film team backtracked and reduced the number to just 3 women.
Rahman himself showed his support to the protests by sharing a newstory of a Kerala Hindu couple getting married in Mosque. However the Adah Sharma starrer went on to collect over rupees 240 crores at the box office in spite of initial bans by Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and other states.
'Saharasri' is the biopic of Sahara India Pariwar founder Subrata Roy. The motion poster released shows the business tycoon holding a cheque for rupees twenty five thousand crores. Produced by Legend Studios and Penn Studios, the legendary Gulzar is on board as the lyricist.
