A.R.Rahman, the prolific music composer and pride of the Tamil film industry is as busy as ever with projects in various languages such as Tamil, Malayalam, English and Hindi. His lineup in Kollywood include Dhanush's 'Raayan', Kamal Haasan - Mani Ratnam's 'KH 234', Rajinikanth's 'Lal Salaam', Sivakarthikeyan's 'Ayalaan', Vijay Sethupathi's 'Gandhi Talks' and Jayam Ravi's 'Genie'.
The Oscar winner has been conducting concerts from time to time abroad in spite of such a hectic schedule. After constant requests by fans to hold concerts in Tamil Nadu. Rahman obliged by announcing the "Marakkuma Nenjam" event in Chennai and Coimbatore. Unfortunately the Chennai edition was washed out due to rains on August 12th and has been rescheduled for September 10th. The Coimbatore concert however was a huge success on August 20th.
Thousands gathered at the venue were not only treated to the rich music of the maestro but also some rare fun moments from him. When his son A.R. Ameen took to the stage Rahman asked him "Are you scared or excited?...girls are watching" and when the 20 year old singer began to answer in English his dad quipped "Speak in Tamil Pa". The audience roared with laughter and the video clip is going viral on the internet.
