Isaipuyal A.R. Rahman has been dominating the Indian film music arena for more than three decades now. Many of his family members including sister Reihana and nephew G.V. Prakash Kumar are famous composers while all his children Khatija, Rahima and Ameen have made their names as singers.
Now the big news has come that A.R. Rahman's eldest daughter Khatija Rahman has turned music composer for a new film. Ace director Halitha Shameem of 'Sillukarupatti' and 'Aelay' fame has shared on Twitter "So happy to be working with this exceptional talent, Khatija Rahman for #MinMini. The euphonious singer is a brilliant music composer too. Some great music underway!"
The photo of Khatija composing music in the presence of an excited Halitha has gone viral on the internet. The filmmaker earlier had gushed "The composer I've been working with for #Minmini has kept me in a state of trance for quite sometime. How many times did I catch myself smiling, blushing because great music has that tendency to do so! It keeps you happy! And who is this composer? Give us a day, please! :).
'Minmini' interestingly is in the making for around nine years. Halitha shot the film with child artistes Esther Anil, Gaurav Kalai and Pravin Kishore in 2014. She waited for them to grow up to complete the film showing them in their late teens which the story demanded. She tweeted about the film "How real is Survivor’s guilt? How far would you go to live the dreams of your loved ones? That thin line between love and hate? Why are teens more emotional than adults?! #Minmini is a tranquil cloud that descended upon me and I’ve been working all these years to do justice to it."
