Pyramid Saimira Theatre limited (PSTL), India’s largest Theatre Chain Company has announced its foray into the Malayalam movie industry.

The group is planning to lease theatres in select centres and is planning to invest another 25 crores in production of Malayalam movies.

The company which has received the national distribution rights of Mohanlal's movie Paradesi is also planning to buy another ten films for the year. This was announced on Saturday, by P S Saminathan, MD, Pyramid Saimira Theatre limited in a press meeting organized by the group at the capital.

“In its expansion in Kerala, Pyramid Saimira Theatre limited will follow all the industry practices and norms established by the trade bodies of the state. Our entry into Kerala will enhance the movie viewing experience, provide more employment opportunities and will give more opportunities to talents and the other artists and improve the overall turnover of the film entertainment in the state of Kerala”, said Saminathan on the occasion.

Pyramid Saimira Theatre limited is currently India’s largest theatre chain with over 371 screens under management across South India. The company which has more than 2.41 lakh seats per show is planning to increase its presence manifold, by acquiring 1,550 locations across India with over 2000 screens by 2010.
