A lovable insurance agent

Insurance Agents don't enjoy much popularity. They call at most unexpected time, turn at unwanted occasions and generally are seen to be pesky.
And if the insurance agents turns out to be buck-toothed and thick-rimmed glass-wearing man, he would be almost despised. Not quite, we say.
In fact, you will love him. The insurance agent in question is Ramesh Aravind who plays the man with the above description in Mumbai Xpress.
Ramesh Aravind in fact has struck such wonderful rapport with Kamal that he has played many memorable roles with him in many films (Panchatantram, Sathi Leelavathi).
Ramesh Aravind is excited about working with Kamal again. "It is a great pleasure to work with Kamalji. His passion for cinema is infectious. Every time I comeback working with him I feel recharged and ready to take better challenges," he says almost breathlessly.
He is naturally elated about playing a really different role in Mumbai Xpress. "The buck teeth was okay. But those glasses were impossible to wear and act. I was almost blind while doing the film. Those risky chase sequences with those glasses were quite tough," he says.
But there was lot of satisfaction for him. "The end result was fantastic. We even tried to compensate the +9 glasses with -9 contact lens. But it was too irritating to wear (the lens) and so managed to without them".
As some kind of intriguing paradox, Ramesh Aravind's Mumbai Xpress is taking on Chandramukhi a film that is a take off from the Kannada film Aapta Mitra --- a movie in which Ramesh Aravind was the leading light.
Mumbai Xpress will yet again prove why Kamal keeps going back to actors like Ramesh Aravind for his films. For, people like Ramesh Aravind are certainly an insurance against sloppy performance.
In that sense, he can be called an insurance agent in real life, too.
