The Italians completed a sensational 2-1 win over the world's top-ranked side, Belgium in Euro 2020 clash . Immobile who gave away the ball on several occasions when Italy were on the attack, became on object of ridicule.

As he and Belgian Jan Vertonghen attacked the ball in the box, they each raised a boot, with the Belgian defender. The Lazio striker went to ground in the box after a slight coming together with Jan Vertonghen 31 minutes into the match.

Immobile began to writhe around the ground in pain in an apparent attempt to try and win a penalty for his side, who were still on the attack in Munich. Seconds later however, the Lazio man was up on his feet and he made a miraculous recovery.

Immobile proceeded to join in with the Italian celebrations and England legend Shearer said "I don’t even want to laugh at that because that is pathetic". Many football fans found the moment comical and one of them commented " The best part of Barella's goal was Immobile rising from the dead and joining the celebration".
