As the stand-off between film exhibitors and technicians in Kerala worsens following the issue ignited by the release of 'Mr Fraud' , the already shaky film industry is soon to expect a standstill.

It all started with the decision of technicians and actors, not to attend the inauguration of the Film Exhibitors’ Federation office.The Exhibitors’ Federation immediately reacted by not to allow the release of writer-director B Unnikrishnan’s Mohanlal film, 'Mr. Fraud, which is due to release on May 8. Liberty Basheer, the president of the Exhibitors’ Federation, then demanded an apology from the director B Unnikrishnan, who is also the general secretary of the film technicians’ association, FEFKA.

FEFKA, but has now threatened that if the ban continues, no new films will be released , though the shooting of new films will not be stopped.The exhibitors retaliated by saying that this decision is the one that must come from the producers and not from FEFKA.

The new tussle is all set make things worse in an industry which is facing steep fall in satellite rights and number of hit movies, which came to as low as four in the first four months. of 2014.
