A dangerous gamble

It is always one of the abiding questions asked in the industry: Does it help to have a relative in the industry. For some it has proved beneficial. But for some others it can turn out to be an albatross around the neck.

Sairam Shankar doesn’t know to which category he belongs. He is in a very early stage of his career to know whether he has arrived or just going.

This younger brother of director of Puri Jagannadh is just about getting to find his feet in the industry.

Sairam started with 143, directed by Puri.Though the film had its moments, it somehow didn't click with the audience.

So Sairam looked stuck. But luckily he has got the right opportunity to unfurl his talent under a big director. He is one of the heroes in Danger directed by Krishna Vamsi.

This is Sairam’s big chance to make a mark. After all, you don't get anybody bigger than Vamsi in the industry.

Sairam is sure that Danger will open the right doors for him. It has a very good plot, he avers.

After Danger, the makers of Itlu Sravani Subrahmanyam for their next untitled venture have signed Sairam.

But Sairam is willing to talk about only one film at a time.

He is sure if Danger clicks, there will be no more danger for him.
