Rumors are abuzz that Vikram's Tamil remake of Malayalam hit Chandhupottu will be directed by no less person than his mentor director Bala.

The duo had not just won rave reviews before in Sethu and Pithamagan but also took away with them a host of awards and also accolades.

Vikram says, 'sure, I would love the movie to be directed by Bala. I have requested him. However, I don't know about his other commitments. Our's is a successful combo and it would be a great experience for me to work with him. However, it looks unlikely that he might wield the megaphone'.

In the event of Bala not taking up the mantle, Vikram has urged director Shafi (who directed his Maja) to do the movie.
