Trivikram Srinivas is taking Tollywood by a surprise. Storming the US Box Office is his latest release. In a season marked by disasters from the two biggest stars (namely, Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu), the Overseas is providing succor in the form of a spectacular performance from A Aa. Thus, A Aa's success has partly made good the loss of face suffered due to the failure of Sardaar Gabbar Singh in April and Brahmotsavam in May. Note that while those two films got sold for a bomb (Rs. 11-13 cr), A Aa was not released amid huge expectations.

The news is that the Nithiin-Samantha starrer has mopped up one of the biggest openings for a Telugu film in the US. The figure is estimated to be to the tune of ISD 1.72 million by the end of first weekend. This is touted to be the third biggest opening for a Telugu film, the first two being Baahubali and Srimanthudu.

At this rate, it is said, the film may well surpass the records set by films like Oopiri. Commentators are saying that since it's holiday season in the US, the spree is set to continue successfully.

Some of the biggest grossers in Overseas have been either superstar films or films made by superstar directors like SS Rajamouli. Trivikram has proved that he is a rockstar when it comes to narration, as the success of A Aa amply proves. Not only has he catapulted himself into a higher league, but also elevated the stamina of Nithiin.
