Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha's '96' directed by C. Premkumar has received unanimous praise from critics hailing it as one of the best films to release in 2018 and an all time great love story onscreen. The film was slated for release today the 4th of October and early morning 5 am shows were opened in many theaters across the city but the KDMs did not reach in time due to an issue for producer Madras Enterprises Nandagopal.
The negotiations went on till morning 10.30 am as shows got cancelled as the producer owed around 3.5 Crores to actor Vishal and another crore to other parties. Vijay Sethupathi has agreed to shoulder all the loans pertaining to '96' and by doing so has sacrificed his salary in order to get a film with good content reach the people and also for his long time friend Premkumar who is making his directorial debut.
The gesture of Vijay sethupathi is being lauded by one and all in Kollywood as very few heroes stand by their producers in the hour of need and those in the know say he is the Makkal Selvan for a reason.
