A lot of speculations have been rife since the release of the Tamil movie 96, regarding its remake in other languages, including Telugu and Hindi. The names of a few Tollywood actors were doing the rounds for the reprisal of Vijay Sethupathi’s role in the Telugu remake. It was later confirmed that Engeyum Eppodhum actor Sharwanand will be playing the lead role in the movie.

Now that that’s settled, confusion has risen over the cast of the female lead in the movie, which is yet to be finalized. Producer Dil Raju, who brought the remake rights of 96, is insistent on casting Samantha in the Telugu version of the movie, while director Prem Kumar, who did the original version as well, intends to retain Trisha in the remake. The revelation is expected to be a much exciting one.
