Music director Govind Vasantha, known for his popular Thaikudam Bridge band and for his superhit songs in the Vijay Sethupathi - Trisha starrer romantic entertainer 96, has become one of the most sought after music directors of Kollywood, with multiple movies lined up.

Now, the music director has won a prestigious award for his work. Govind Vasantha has been given the Dadasaheb Phalke award for best Background score for the movie Humans of Someone directed by Sumesh Lal, in the 9th DadaSaheb Phalke film festival.

Govind Vasantha took it to Twitter to share the news and said that this movie had one of his finest works and thanked Nitin Nath and Sumesh Lal for bringing him into the movie. Govind Vasantha had last scored music for Uriyadi 2, and is working currently in movies like Jeetu Joseph's next, Vaanam Kottatum and several other movies.
