90 lakh people above 50 years of age will get vaccine in first phase: Jagan

Andhra Pradesh is making arrangements to ensure that one crore people are vaccinated for coronavirus in the first phase of vaccine administration in 2021. As per the Centre, a vaccine candidate is expected to be out in 3-4 months. The Modi government will allot one crore doses to AP in the first phase.

In this regard, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has reportedly said that as many as 3.60 lakh health workers and about 7 lakh frontline staff will be administered in the first leg of the first phase.

In the same phase, as many as 90 lakh people who are above the age of 50 years will be vaccinated. About 4,065 freezers are ready for the humongous task. The Centre will take care of other logistical support needed for the massive exercise.

So far, AP has conducted about 1 crore tests. The cumulative positive rate is now at 8.51%.
