Pet dog mauls 82-year-old woman to death; Video shows dog being taken away

An 82-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh, identified as Sushila Tripathi, was mauled to death by her pet dog, a pitbull, on Tuesday morning, while she was on the roof of her house. The woman was a resident of the Qaiserbagh area of Lucknow.
The 82-year-old woman was found in a pool of blood by the domestic help, who then called her son Amit and informed him. “I had gone to work. When I came to know about this, I came home but by then the incident had already happened with my mother,” the woman’s son was quoted as saying by a news agency. The woman was rushed to a hospital immediately but was declared dead by the doctors. Her body has been sent for an autopsy.
Yogesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Qaiserbagh, reportedly said, “Sushila Tripathi, 82, of Bengali Tola locality was attacked by her pet dog. Her body was recovered and sent for post mortem examination. We are coordinating with the officials of Lucknow Municipal Corporation regarding the incident.” The dog was later taken away by the municipal corporation of the city and a video of Amit dropping the dog in the Nagar Nigam van surfaced online.
