Recently, Muthiah Muralidaran said that '800' is just 20% cricket and that the rest is about the unknown aspects of his life. Sivalenka Krishna Prasad echoes a similar sentiment, having been intimately associated with the prestigious project for the past two months. It was his long-time acquaintance MS Sripathy who directed the movie.
"In India, we are releasing it in about 1100 theaters. We are focusing mostly on multiplex screens. Later, we will gradually increase the screen count," Krishna Prasad says. The film will be released simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi in India on October 6.
Krishna Prasad's movies have always defied the expectations of the audience. After a thriller like Nani's Gentleman in 2016, he did a romantic drama like 'Sammohanam' and later a survival thriller like 'Yashoda'. "I have always tried various genres. I am glad that I am now coming out with '800', which is a truthful biopic," he adds.
The movie has many feathers in its cap, thanks to Lyca Productions (international release), Dil Raju, Geetha Film Distributors, Suniel Narang, Annapurna Studios, UFO and others giving it a fillip as distributors.
Krishna Prasad is thinking of producing a battery of films, which are in various stages of pre-production and scripting. "Sripathy's next film is with me. There is a movie with 'Yashoda' directors Hari and Hareesh in the works. We have already completed the script work. Discussions are going on with director Pavan Sadineni as well. Sai Shekhar, the director of Siddhartha's film 'Vadaladu', recently narrated a story. Four or five stories are currently in the works," he reveals.
