'Maharshi', which hit the screens in 2019, has received two National Awards today. It has been adjudged the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. The film is likely to have received the award because of its farming-related message and entertainment quotient.
The Mahesh Babu-starrer also received the Best Choreography award for Raju Sundaram, who is a legendary dance master in the history of Indian cinema.
Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, 'Maharshi' featured also Pooja Hegde, Jagapathi Babu, Allari Naresh and Prakash Raj. With music by Devi Sri Prasad and cinematography by KU Mohanan, the film hit the screens on May 9, which is considered a lucky day, given that Chiranjeevi's 'Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari' and 'Mahanati', too, were released on the same date in different years. Incidentally, the latter, which had released a year before 'Maharshi', had received three National Awards.
We are happy to share that a very special film #Maharshi has won the National Award for Best Film Providing Wholesome Entertainer.
