Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan completed a staggering 63 years as an actor in Indian cinema. His debut movie as a four year old in 'Kalathur Kannamma' was released on August 12th 1950.

Thousand of celebrities and fans posted congratulatory messages to the unparalelled actor in the country. Kamal who is currently in the USA has thanked everyone on X writing in Tamil "It is a great blessing when someone received wishes for living at the age of 64. It is even greater when the wishes or not for my body but for my artistic life, which many who were more talented than me did not receive. I humbly thank all those who congratulated me. The remaining days of my life are for my people."

On his return home Kamal has a busy year ahead as he will be shooting for the pan Indian film 'Kalki 2898 AD' followed by 'KH 233' directed by H. Vinoth. The 68 year old thespian will also be hosting 'Bigg Boss Tamil 7' planned to be aired on Vijay TV and Disney Plus Hotstar from October this year.
