A 62-year-man from Punjab has been arrested for the murder of his own son over an alleged affair with his wife.

The accused, identified as Chhota Singh, reportedly stabbed his son Rajwinder Singh (40) to death while he was asleep in his room. The incident allegedly happened following a tiff between the father and son after the former had an affair with Rajwinder’s wife (his daughter-in-law). He also apparently intended to marry her. Following the murder, the 62-year-old chopped the body of his son into tiny pieces and stuffed the pieces into a plastic bag to dump them in a sewer.

The murderer was caught when his nephew found blood stains in his house, which led him to file a police complaint. A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 302 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code, while the body of the victim has been sent for post-mortem.
