Ahead of the theatrical release of 'Pushpa', famous character artist Ajay has spoken to IndiaGlitz about his character, the scale of the movie and more.
Why two parts? "The content is so wide that the story needs two parts. It's a huge subject. There are too many good episodes. Maybe, that's why they divided the movie into two parts," Ajay answered.
"I shot for the movie for 50 days. I was bald-headed throughout. The make-up of Allu Arjun garu took a lot of time because it's a brown tan that his look demanded. Almost 7-8 actors will be seen in a new way. They have never been seen that way in their career before," Ajay said, suggesting that the main actors will be so unlike. "The story demanded a raw look for everyone," he added.
"The story of the first part revolves completely around Pushpa Raj and his rise. Since 'Arya 2', I have got to work with Bunny garu. His combination with Sukumar garu has been terrific. The director has gone in for unusual, deglamorous characterizations for 'Pushpa'. Hats off to the hero for accepting the script," Ajay said.
Ajay will be seen as Bunny's brother in the much-awaited movie, which will hit the screens on December 17. "The backdrop is red sandalwood smuggling, as you know. My role is important in both Part I and Part II. Right from the start, my instinct has told me that 'Pushpa' is going to be a huge, huge movie," Ajay said.
"Right from make-up to getting the Chittoor slang, Bunny garu has worked really hard. You will see him as a true-blue Chittoor guy. At least six to seven blocks will blow away your mind. Nobody will be sitting in their seats. Take it from me," Ajay said. "As per my understanding, 'Rangasthalam' was village-based. 'Pushpa' is driven by the protagonist's character," he added.
