Amidst young heroes today, actor Sathyaraj stands tall (literally and figuratively) still playing the hero. And he still manages to draw a decent amount of crowds to theatres.
Known for his trademark 'lollus' and sarcasm, Sathyaraj plays a typical action hero in a film whose title, it would seem, is just the right one for him.
Debutant Prithvi Rajkumar, who had worked as an associate with directors like K Bhagyaraj, Praveen Kanth and Sakthi Chidambaram, is directing the movie.
He says the title itself has generated a lot of interest among the people.
Sathyaraj is 6 feet, 2 inches tall. Hence we decided to have the title as 6.2. The movie will have all the commercial ingredients besides the actor's trademark lollu right through, he says.
After a long gap, Sathyaraj will be playing a movie that will have action all through. His humour in the company of Vadivelu will no doubt be a highlight in the movie, he adds.
Newcomer Sunitha Varma is being introduced in the movie besides a huge star cast that includes Vadivelu, Raveendhar, Raj Kapoor and Manobala.
D Imman has scored the music. For Sathyaraj the role in 6.2 is tailor-made. He says "at this age, I cannot run around trees romancing.
I am careful in picking a different story line these days and once I came across 6.2, I felt it was a befitting role for me. Hence I didn't want to miss it out".
The movie is expected for release this July.
