The winners of National Awards have been announced and going by the list, one can't help but notice is the fact that being "dirty" has its own merits…

Vidya Balan has been given the Best Actress Award for her performance in the film 'The Dirty Picture'. While the movie also won Best Costume Award for designer Niharika Khan and Best Makeup Award for Vijram Gaekwad.

'I Am' has received the Best Film which is directed by Onir and stars Sanjay Suri, Juhi Chawla, Manisha Koirala, Nandita Das and Rahul Bose among others.

'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' won Best Choreography Award for the song "Senorita", received by choreographing duo Bosco-Caser.

The Best Special Effects award has been given to Shah Rukh Khan's 'Ra.One'.

'Stanley Ka Dabba' lead kid Partho Gupte along with 'Chillar Party' children team shared Best Child Artistes Award. On the hand ‘Chillar Party’ was hailed as the Best Children's Film.

The Best Actor was won by Girish Kulkarni for 'Deool' (Marathi). The film also shared the Best Feature Film with 'Pyaari' (Kannada).
