52 mobile apps linked to China under Indian intelligence agencies' radar

Amid talk that China may be opening a likely front of war - cyber war - against India, India's intelligence agencies have reportedly red-flagged as many as 52 apps linked to China. The famous video conferencing app Zoom, TikTok and WeChat, the usual suspects, are among them.

Hindutstan Times has stated that the gencies have given the list of 52 apps to the government. It quoted officials as saying that many Android and IOS apps, either developed by Chinese developers or launched by companies with Chinese links, had the potential to be used as spyware or other malicious ware.

Obviously, this persistent danger poses a security risk. China could use its access to degrade communications services in case of conflict, the daily says in the report.
