Chennai College students bunk classes to protest against NEET

Tamil Nadu's medical aspirant Anita's suicide has sparked a state wide outrage with many representatives of the civil society, doctors, film industry celebrities, students and common people voicing their opinion against the NEET the common entrance test for admission into medical colleges across India.
Colleges in the state have been reopened today after three day holiday. However students in many colleges across Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry have boycotted the classes and started an indefinite strike against NEET and to seek justice for Anita's death.
The latest update is that over 500 students of Loyola college in Chennai are sitting in front of the college entrance and raising slogans against NEET. Since the college is located in a central part of a busy road the vehicular traffic is getting jammed. The students have said that this will not be a One day protest and it will be continued until TN is exempted from NEET and justice is rendered to Anita who ended her life allegedly because she could not get a medical seat despite getting 1176 marks in 12th board exams.
Many prominent colleges of Chennai such as The Presidency College and Pachyappa's college students are also planning to start protesting against NEET.
We have to wait for some more days to see whether this anger evolves as a mass movement spearheaded by students like it happened for Jallikattu earlier this year.
