A terrible automobile accident in Alpharetta, Georgia, claimed the lives of three young Indian students, and critically injured two more. Monday saw the accident happen north of Maxwell Road on Westside Parkway. The victims—all eighteen years old—were named Aryan Joshi, Sriya Avasarala, and Anvi Sharma.

While Sriya Avasarala and Anvi Sharma were freshmen at the University of Georgia, Aryan Joshi had just finished his senior year at Alpharetta High School.

The two injured students, senior Mohammed Liyakath of Alpharetta High School and driver of the Honda Accord, and Georgia State University student Rithwak Somepalli, were flown to the hospital in severe condition. Alpharetta Police are looking at the accident closely because they believe speed may have played a role.

Aryan Joshi and Sriya Avasarala tragically died at the site when the car lost control, flipped over, and landed upside down in a tree line. Seated in the back, Anvi Sharma was brought to North Fulton Hospital, where she passed away from her wounds.

The injured students are getting care at the same hospital in the meanwhile.

At the University of Georgia, Sriya Avasarala was a member of the Shikaari tiny dance team, while Anvi Sharma sang with the Kalakaar a cappella group. Both groups conveyed their sadness and grief at losing their mates.

As seen by the moving homage from his Alpharetta High School cricket team, Aryan Joshi's influence went beyond the classroom and included his constant support and commitment to their triumphs.
