A 65-year-old man who had tested positive for the deadly coronavirus, collapsed and passed away on the road outside his house as he had been waiting for the arrival of an ambulance. As said by Commissioner BH Anil Kumar, the man, who resided in Hanumanatha Nagar walked from his home to the road, when he collapsed and died.
The man had received his test result yesterday morning, and since then his family was trying to arrange a private ambulance. The man had packed his clothes and was waiting for the ambulance. The ambulance arrived at the end of his street by 7 pm. The man tried to walk to the end of the road to board the ambulance to avoid the ambulance coming closer to his house.
It was an attempt to avoid his family from getting contact, besides avoiding the news of his condition spreading to his neighbours. It has been suspected that he might have suffered a cardiac arrest while walking towards the ambulance. A passerby who rushed to lift the man as he collapsed is now a primary contact.
