With some of the new release Kannada films not retained in theatres for three days, the release of three films per week is unstoppable.


DRISHYA - Interesting films are hitting the silver screen this week. One is ‘Drishya’ starring V Ravichandran, Navya Nayar, Shivaji Prabhu in Mukesh Mehta production and topnotch director P Vasu heading the megaphone. This remake of ‘Drishyam’ of Malayalam a bumper crop cinema is highly expected cinema. Two songs from maestro Ilayaraja and his background score is the main asset of the film. P Vasu has made some changes to speed up the first half and of course the second half is quite interesting for family audience.

From a long time the combination of V Ravichandran Kannada cinema trailblazer and P Vasu not happened. It is before audience this week with another stalwart from Tamil cinema Shivaji Prabhu also joining the team. Maestro Ilayaraja is not new to Kannada cinema and he has the unshakable image in sandalwood.

E4 Entertainment Mukesh Mehta maiden film is all about head of the family protecting it. Nodiddu Nijavalla – what you see is not true the film has in the post interval. V Nagendra Prasad has written lyrics. Suresh Urs is editor.

TYPICAL KAILAS – another interesting film of the week is this comedy film with strong message. Srujan Lokesh has huge fan following in small screen is coming up with a very interesting subject of freeloader struggle, journey and road to satisfaction in life. Sri Kaivalyadevi Combines producer N Devaraj Urs and ST Shivakumar in the direction of BN Mallikarjun for his story, screenplay has acquired importance in the internet media.

Pavana of ‘Gombegala Love’ and ‘Jatta’ is in female lead. Om Prakash Rao, Sunder Raj, Srinivasaprabhu, Lakshmi Devappa, Asif Pharuki, Sridhar are in the supporting cast. Big names in lyrics Yogaraj Bhat, Dr V Nagendra Prasad, Jayanth Kaikini and V Manohar have written a song each for the film.

LOVE IS POISON – This is the film releasing after the demise of hero of the film Rajesh a tribal youth who shot in to fame from a reality show and later got attention in his first film ‘Jungle Jackie’. Rajesh fell from top of his house in HD Kote and before his death he had completed his second film project ‘Love is Poison’.

This film has extra edge because of the presence of internationally acclaimed sexy siren Poonam Pandey in one of the songs. Poonam Pandey knowing the minus point of the film – demise of hero of the film has come down to Bangalore for promotion of the film. On first day she is issuing tickets to dignitaries who come for the morning show of the film ‘Love is Poison’. Finding success from his first film ‘Preethiya Loka’ an employee of BMTC Nandan Prabhu has directed this film. Ravishanker Nag has written lyrics and dialogues for this film.
