28-year-old excise staff dies of COVID-19

On Thursday, Kerala reported one more death due to COVID-19 after an excise staff in Kannur district succumbed to the deadly virus.

The deceased identified as Sunil Kumar was admitted to medical college a few days ago after he complained of fever and breathlessness. He tested positive for COVID-19 later and was then diagnosed with pneumonia. Soon his condition worsened last evening. With Sunil's demise, the death toll had risen to 22. The health officials are attempting to trace the source of his infection.

Meanwhile, as a precaution against the deadlyvirus, the Kerala government on Wednesday made the pre-flight Covid-19 tests compulsory for all individuals returning to the state from overseas.
