26000 children death annually, State reveal figures

It has been a sad state of affairs as for as the child death is concerned in the Karnataka. Annually 26000 children succumb to death to various reasons according to Health and Family welfare department statics. It was 40000 deaths of children eight years. Compared to other states in the country the death rate is low in the state it is ascertained.

The child death per 1000 was 41 in 2009; in 1975 the death rate of children was 75 per thousand. Most of them just born children dies due to negligence of the government hospital. The attempt to protect children from death through various programs are chalked out says IAS officer Shalini Rajanish.

In Kolar, Gadaga, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, Kalaburgi, Yadagir, Bidar, Chikkaballapura, Koppala, Ballari, Raichur districts the increase of child is more. In Mysuru, Mandya, Tumakur, Chickmagalur, Dakshin Kannada, Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagara the death of child is happening at the time of delivery in government hospitals. In districts of Coorg, Haasan, Chamarajanagara the child at the delivery is not recorded.

Among the districts 230 death in Davanagere, 202 in Belagavi, 196 in Kalaburgi, Koppala 126 and 93 in Dakshin Kannada was recorded in the last year.

Early age pregnancy, lack of nutrition, less weight reasons behind the children death.
