Karan Johar paid a heartfelt tribute to Shah Rukh Khan during a special screening of “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, celebrating the film's 25th anniversary. As part of the event in Mumbai, the director hosted three screenings and made a surprise appearance with Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji, delighting fans. During one of these screenings, Karan expressed his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan and declared him the "Emperor of Bollywood."
Karan Johar's words resonated with the audience as he humbly stated, "I bow down to the man himself, the biggest movie star of this world. I remember the day “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” was released; I said, 'Okay, now we are done with King, now we are officially Emperor.' To the emperor of entertainment and the Queen of so many hearts, I am so grateful."
Shah Rukh Khan had two major releases this year, with “Pathaan” in January and “Jawan” in September. “Jawan” was a massive blockbuster, grossing over Rs 1132.13 crore worldwide. Dharma Productions shared pictures of SRK, Rani, and Karan posing with movie posters in the theatre, along with videos of fans dancing in the cinema. Unfortunately, Kajol couldn't join the celebration due to a prior outdoor shooting commitment.
“Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, directed by Karan Johar, originally hit theaters on October 16, 1998. It marked Karan's directorial debut and became a blockbuster, winning hearts with its performances and memorable songs that continue to be cherished by fans even 25 years later.
