A man from Mumbai’s Malad area was murdered by two brothers of his girlfriend on Tuesday morning.

Saif Ali Sharafat Ali, a 25-year-old man, was in love with a woman from the same area he resided in. They had been planning to get married soon against the wishes of the woman’s brothers, Wasim Badruddin Khan (19) and Ajmal (23), who did not approve of their relationship. Ali was visiting his girlfriend’s place on Tuesday morning assuming her family had gone out. Khan and Ajmal showed up a few minutes later and started assaulting Ali. The brawl allegedly led to one of the brothers stabbing the 25-year-old. The victim succumbed to his injuries even though he was rushed to a hospital immediately, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Following the crime, the accused men went absconding but were tracked and captured by the police. They have been arrested and booked under relevant sections of the IPC.
