Tirru, the cinematographer, has won a National Award for '24'. The Suriya-starrer, directed by Vikram Kumar, saw him using the effect of lighting to a terrific effect.

The cinematographer's previous great works include 'Hey Ram', 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' and 'Krrish 3', among others. Koratala Shiva's narration and vision made him accept his first-ever Telugu movie, which is 'Janatha Garage'. Koratala would later say that he learnt something new from the cinematographer every single day during the shoot. Tirru's visuals played a big role in the success of '24' and 'JG' last year.

He has been quoted as saying that the award makes him happy because '24' was such a challenging screenplay.
