Record Breaking COVID-19 cases in Kerala

On Tuesday, the state of Kerala registered 2375 cases of COVID-19, health minister KK Shailaja informed. This is the highest single-day spike to be reported in the state.

Of the new cases, 2142 persons developed the disease through contact. 61 persons who tested positive for Covid-19 had returned from abroad and 118 returned from other states. 49 health workers also tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. The most number of cases were reported from Malappuram. Meanwhile, 1,456 recoveries were also reported on Tuesday.

10 deaths were also confirmed of Covid-19 in the state taking the death toll to 244.With this, there are 21,232 active coronavirus cases in Kerala as on Tuesday while 40,343 have recovered. Currently, there are 619 hotspots in Kerala.
