In December 2019, a young lad by name Prathap NM from Mandya in Karnataka hogged headlines for developing drones using e-waste. He even bagged a project with DRDO. The talent has been tasked with developing drone application in critical national projects.
A WhatsApp message doing the rounds claims that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who spotted Prathap NM and gave him the project. This claim seems to be fake.
Coming to the scientific brain, Prathap's tryst with drones started when he was all of 14 years old. He reportedly built his first drone two years later. This Bachelor of Science graduate from Mysore is credited with building 600 drones from scratch.
The drone scientist's name has spread far and wide, thanks to his achievements and social media.
