Recently, a shelter home in Bihar's Muzaffarpur was found to be an epicenter of cruelties. Reason? As many as 21 girls (inmates) were raped in this ill-fated shelter home. It has been run by Brajesh Thakur and Vineet Kumar.
After medical tests recently confirmed that the girls were raped, the Opposition rose up in unison to demand a CBI probe. On Thursday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has finally agreed to a CBI probe into the Muzaffarpur shelter home case. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had already said that the Centre is open to conducting a CBI probe if the state government makes a recommendation.
The shelter home in question is a government-funded one. The RJD has alleged that the ruling JDU is interested in protecting the accused in the case. An impartial CBI probe is very much needed.
